I'm Katy.

Content strategist. Founder of Blake Social. Mum who built a business that fits around toddler life, not the other way round.

Nice to meet you!

Fresh ginger tea. Pepsi Max. Clinique undereye concealer. A bold lip - usually bright pink. My iPhone, my Macbook Pro, or both. Snacks. ALL THE SNACKS.

Must haves:

Promising overnight success, or viral content. Pushing a one-size-fits-all posting strategy. Teaching tactics that only work with a giant team. Judging you for not knowing stuff.

I'm NOT ABOUT:

Content shouldn't take more time than actually running your business. You don't need a huge following, you need the right one. "Going viral" is great for your ego but terrible for your bank account if it's the wrong audience. Social media should sell feelings, not things. If your content doesn't make you money, it's a hobby (which is fine, but let's be honest about it).

I BELIEVE:

I help small business owners create content that's actually good — in 20 minutes a day. I've spent 20 years in social media and content strategy, working with everyone from Eurovision and MotoGP to Nestlé and Wembley. Now I take everything I learned in those rooms and make it accessible for the people who need it most: small business owners doing it themselves, with no agency budget and no spare time.
I run two memberships (The Content Drop and The Content Edit), a podcast called Press Post, and a free weekly newsletter called The Friday Fix. I live in Stratford-Upon-Avon, I have 2 little kids, and I genuinely believe that running your own business shouldn't mean losing your evenings to Instagram.

The Short version...

Then I went agency-side, then freelance, then I built Blake Social. And somewhere in between I kept meeting the same person: someone smart, someone good at their job, someone running a brilliant little business — who was completely and utterly stuck on content.

Not because they weren't creative enough. Not because they needed another course. Because nobody had given them the right words and a system that fits into a real life. A life with school runs, and client work, and 20 minutes between meetings, and a baby who doesn't care that you haven't posted this week.

I know because I'm that person too. I had a baby, and for a while, everything stopped. And when I came back, I realised the system I'd been building for other people was the same system I needed for myself. Something simple. Something that works. Something that means I can post, know it's good, and then close the app and go be a mum.
That's what Blake Social is. It's the thing I wish I'd had. And now I'm making it the thing you have.

I fell into social media before it was a career. I spent years working in elite event and experiential marketing — the kind of rooms where 80,000 people are paying attention to the same thing at the same time. I learned what makes people care. What makes them stop scrolling, start talking, actually do something. And I learned it by doing it at scale, under pressure, with real stakes.

The longer, more honest version...

Twenty years of content and events across some fairly ridiculous rooms. Here are a few of the names on the CV... not because I'm trying to show off, but because when I tell you something works, I want you to know it comes from somewhere real.

The principles that work for 80,000 people in a stadium work for 800 people on your Instagram. The only difference is scale. The strategy is the same.

Where I've been

What I believe about content.

qUALITY BEATS QUANTITY.

Every single time. I'd rather that you posted 3 brilliant things than seven mediocre ones this week.

content should serve your business, not run it.

If you're spending more time creating content than actually doing the thing you sell, something's broken.

Your audience doesn't want perfect.

hey want you. The accounts growing fastest right now are the ones that feel most real. Polish doesn't convert. Connection does.

Every small business deserves a content strategist.

The big brands have entire teams. You've got yourself and a phone. Blake Social exists to close that gap — to give you the strategist, the editor, and the system, for the price of a meal out.

it's all about freedom.

You shouldn't have to choose between building your business and being present for your life. I built the 20-Minute Day because I refuse to accept that trade-off. And I don't think you should have to either.
